District Announcements
Open Enrollment for Kindergarten Registration:
Belen Consolidated Schools will hold kindergarten registration at all elementary schools beginning January 23 through August, 2012. Please bring the following items when you come to register:
- Original birth certificate
- Shot Records
- Social Security number
- Proof of residency
Registration will begin from 8:30 – 3:00, from January 23rd through May 21st, and from 10:00 a.m. at each site during the summer.
Enrollment will continue through the summer as staff is available at each site.

Dear Parents,
According to the NM Compulsory School Act, Belen Consolidated Schools is proactively seeking strategies to address the issue of chronic absenteeism. The goal is to keep students in an educational setting. Beginning January 3, 2012 student absences will be addressed individually by the school site and by the district's Student Support Programs Office. La Merced Grade - "C"
La Merced received a grade of "C" from the Public Education Department. Although our staff and students are happy with our grade we certainly realize there is room for improvement and intend to do just that.
With 37% of the State's schools failing we are happy to have received an average grade as compared to students in elementary schools across our state. Attached is a copy of our report card; however, if any parent would like to discuss the report with me fell free to schedule an appointment with Kim or Klaudia so we can take a closer look.
La Merced Start & End Times
Start time is 8:25 A.M.
Dismissal is 2:55 P.M.
Please do not drop off students before 8:25 A.M.
Also, parents picking up their children at the end of the day must wait for their children in the Westside courtyard. Please do not congest the hallways.
